Kelly Woodward

A personal brand with added impact for a digital producer.

Situation

Kelly is an experienced digital producer who has produced interactive digital content and events for the likes of Adidas, Samsung, and Oscar winning film Ex-Machina.

She had a strong reputation in the industry from word of mouth, but wanted to step things up with a professional personal brand and approached us to create one for her.

Moodboard

We explored references to 3D and the illusion of 3D in two dimensions. We took inspiration from digital typography, sharp geometric angles and clever combinations of letters.

The logo

We presented various concepts, the chosen route was Kelly’s initials formed from an axonometric grid, with the idea that the triangular elements could ‘explode’ out in various patterns to represent the illusions created by immersive and virtual reality experiences.

We then evolved this into a more chunky upright font, and decided upon a light treatment against a dark background to imitate light shining in the dark (echoing the digital work Kelly does).

Potential for the logo to ‘explode’ in animation

The brand in use

Kelly didn’t need many materials, but a key one was business cards that would stand out as she networked frequently. It’s a challenge to bring a digital experience to a physical card, but we went for a thick colorplan stock and holographic foil to create a business card that leaves a lasting impression, with a nod to the amazing digital experiences that Kelly creates.

We created an inverted version of the logo and overlaid it on the cards oversized and at an angle for drama. The holographic foil creates an amazing rainbow of colours depending on the light, and look better in person than in the photos. These truly are some of the most unique business cards we’ve ever had the pleasure of designing.
